In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds. We lord Him and we seek His help and assistance in all of our affairs.
As to what follows:
We, at Masjid Ansar As-Sunnah have traversed upon the lofty goal of establishing a community for the sake of Allah, which is based upon the light and guidance from the Qur’an and the Sunnah of our messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in accordance with the understanding of the best generations of the Muslim ummah. Over the course of the last few years, we have experienced exponential growth in our Masjid, seeing people from different ethnic backgrounds and cultures coming together for the sake of Allah. Our intentions are the same; seeking to learn Islam and applying it in our lives hoping for Allah’s Mercy and the reward of paradise.
Currently, we find ourselves in a difficult situation. Our current location is no longer suitable to meet the current and future needs of our growing community. Amongst the issues that we face is a lack of: wudu stations, separate restrooms for men and women, parking availability, separate entrances for men and women, adequate space for congregational prayers and masjid activities. In addition, the location of our current masjid is on the upper floor of a fish market, which is not the most appropriate location in order to call people to Islam.
Due to these issues, we have embarked on a relocation and expansion project. The first phase of our endeavor is to raise $200,000 for the purpose of securing a new location.
We seek Allah’s help and then the assistance of our Muslim brothers and sisters in order to reach our goal. With your help and contributions, by Allah’s Permission, we can acquire a new building in the Passaic County area that will meet all our demands and to welcome all visiting Muslims.
Currently, we are seeking 2000 donations of $100 each for the first phase. Any contributions are welcome, whether more or less, according to your capabilities remembering the tremendous rewards from Allah.
Know that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says in the Qur’an regarding those who give charity seeking His Pleasure:
"And the likeness of those that spend their wealth seeking the pleasure of Allah and to strengthen their souls is like the example of a garden high and fertile: heavy rain falls on it and it yields a double increase of harvest, and if it receives not heavy rain, light rain suffices it. And Allah is all-aware and seeing of what you do".
(Surah al-Baqarah verse 265)
Allah also states in the Qur’an that it is the role and responsibility of the believers to maintain and take care of the houses of Allah:
"The Houses of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, perform As-Salat and give Zakat and fear none but Allah. It is they who are on true guidance.”
(Surah at-Tawbah verse 18)
Likewise, on the authority of the Leader of the believers, Uthman ibn Affaan, may Allah be pleased with him, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, " Whoever builds a masjid intending Allah's pleasure, Allah will build for him a similar place in Paradise". (Reported by al-Bukhari, Muslim, Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi, & Ibn Majah)
To spend in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is a charity with high merit and great reward. Allah has granted us an opportunity to increase our good deeds for the hereafter. We should take advantage of this blessing and compete against each other in doing deeds of righteousness. Invest in your hereafter and give charity that will benefit you even after your death by donating generously to your masjid, Ansar As-Sunnah.
